Concepto.
La clavícula es el hueso situado en la parte superior del tórax, que va desde el hombro hasta el esternón. Las fracturas de la clavícula son muy frecuentes sobre todo en gente joven, y se suelen producir por caídas desde bicicleta, o haciendo actividades deportivas. Son fracturas que suelen curar bien y dejar pocas secuelas. Aunque antes casi nunca se operaban, la tendencia actual es operar cada vez más estas fracturas, para disminuir el número de complicaciones y acelerar la recuperación.
Tipos de fractura.
Las fracturas en la clavícula se dividen en tres:
- Tercio proximal: las que se producen en la parte de la clavícula más cercana al esternón. Raras, se suele producir en accidentes de tráfico.
- Tercio medio: son las más frecuentes. Se producen normalmente tras un traumatismo directo sobre el hombro.
- Tercio distal: las que se producen en la parte de la clavícula más cercana al hombro. Al igual que las de tercio medio se producen tras un traumatismo sobre el hombro.
Pruebas diagnósticas.

La fractura de clavícula se diagnostica con una radiografía. En ocasiones, si la fractura se ha producido con un traumatismo de gran energía, como puede ser un accidente de tráfico o una caída desde mucha altura, puede ser necesario realizar un escáner, o TAC, para descartar que haya lesiones en los pulmones, o en los vasos que pasan cerca de la clavícula.
En la gran mayoría de los casos será suficiente con una radiografía para diagnósticarte una fractura de clavícula.
Formas de tratamiento.
Dividiremos las distintas opciones de tratamiento en función de la zona de la clavícula en la que tengas la lesión.
- Tercio proximal: al tratarse de fracturas muy raras, es necesario individualizar mucho el tratamiento. A modo orientativo, te diremos que si la fractura no está desplazada no hará falta cirugía, pero en caso de que sí lo esté puedes necesitar tratamiento quirúrgico.
- Tercio medio: clásicamente estas fracturas se trataban casi siempre sin cirugía, aunque ahora la tendencia está cambiando.
o Si no te operan, el tratamiento consiste en colocar lo que se llama un vendaje en ocho, o en colocar simplemente un cabestrillo. El vendaje en ocho, suele conseguir una mejor reducción de la fractura, pero será más incómodo para ti. Además requiere ajustarlo cada cuatro o cinco días. Existen muchos traumatólogos que han visto que la fractura cura igual si en vez de un vendaje en ocho se coloca simplemente un cabestrillo. Por tanto, si no te van a operar la fractura que tienes, pregúntale al traumatólogo si necesitas un vendaje en ocho, o es suficiente con un cabestrillo. El tiempo que deberás llevar la inmovilización variará entre 4 y 6 semanas, y podrás quitarla definitivamente cuando al tocar la zona de la fractura no tengas dolor.

Como hemos dicho, antes casi ninguna de estas fracturas se operaba. Actualmente esta tendencia está cambiando, pues se ha visto que operando aumentan las probabilidades de que la fractura cure correctamente, y disminuye el tiempo de inmovilización. Sobre todo si tienes una fractura desplazada, lo más probable es que necesites tratamiento quirúrgico. La forma de operar más extendida en la actualidad es la colocación de una placa atornillada a la clavícula, que se coloca a través de una incisión en la piel justo por encima de la clavícula. Después de la cirugía deberás llevar el cabestrillo durante aproximadamente dos semanas.
- Tercio distal: este tipo de fractura se consideran inestables, y salvo que el desplazamiento sea mínimo necesitarás cirugía. La forma ideal de operar estas fracturas es controvertida, utilizándose actualmente o bien placas atornilladas al hueso, agujas que se colocan a través de la piel, o incluso un tornillo largo que se colocará por dentro de la clavícula. Te recomendamos que te dejes asesorar por el traumatólogo que te vaya a hacer el tratamiento.
Recomendaciones.
Como hemos dicho al principio, estas fracturas no suelen dejar secuelas. En caso de que no te hayan operado, deberás llevar el cabestrillo entre 4 y 6 semanas. Una vez que te lo quiten deberás esperar a cargar peso al menos hasta las ocho semanas desde que tuviste la fractura.
Si te han operado, deberás llevar el cabestrillo los primeros 15 días después de la cirugía. Para poder empezar a hacer una vida normal y cargar peso deberá esperar de cuatro a seis semanas después de la cirugía.

hace como 7 a 8 años, tuve un accidente automovilistico, presente un cuandro de clavicula fracturada(quebrada) la factura es de en la esquina del lombro izquierdo. el cual, me realizaron una operacion, colocandome dos clavos. en la fractura, el cual cuando se termino el plazo de los tornillos que se deverian retira, el cual me presento con el medico, el cual sejeto unos de los clavos lo jalo y salio facilmente, pero en cambio el segundo, me dolio al tiempo de jalarlo, y senti al mismo tiempo que de desprecio de alguna parte de mi hombro, (como que estaba entrerado o algo asi), el cual me segui el tratamiento que me endicaron, posterior a eso empese a tener dolores muy intesos, algunos me indicaban que era por el frio, creo que la serugia fue un fracaso rutundo, el cual inici una llegar a sistencia medica el seguro, el cual me manifesto el trauma en su momento que el hueso estaba encifmad sobre el otro pedazo de huezo el cual fue fracturado, el cual me indico que tendria que hacer una operacion, pero tenia que realizar a cortarme tres o cuatro centimetro, para que el huezo pueda bajar, pero esto tendria como consecuencia que el huezo no incerte o pege con el otro, el cual quedara una separacion de huesos, que por esa sitiacion ya no tendria el mismo movimiento y con el tiempo perderia mobilidad y se fuera secando el brazo, por esta situacion de hace unos dias para aca, he tenido mucho dolor, el cual he estado llegando con el medico familiar en el imss, me comento que tengo infamado lo que es la parte del hombro donde fue la factura y el dolor llega todo el cuello hasta llegar casi a la parte del oido. quisiera saber que tratamiento seguir o cuales son su sugerencia a seguir, en estos casos,

Estoy bastante preocupada, porque no me a empezado a unir? Qué puedo hacer para facilitar la unión? Y sobre todo, es normal que me hayan quitado todos los vendajes?

hola que tal mi nimbre es tomas,si me podeis dar una opinion ,el 16 de marzo tube una caida de unos 2.50 de altura y el traumatologo dijo que tenia fractura multiple de clavicula me puso cabestrillo que lo e llevado durante un mes.la clavicula en si no me duele si no la muevo segun el movimiento duele bastante,pero el hombro y la muñeca me duele bastante que solo puedo dormir entre tres y cuatro horas en cuanto se me pasa el efecto del enamtyun ya no puedo pegar ojo.el medico de cabezera le puso en el parte que recomienda ic ,y el traumatologo dice que lo que se necesita es tiempo.mi trabajo es de escayolista y el 90% casi simpre trabajo por encima de mi cabeza.
perdon por el testamento pero es que hacer con este dolor y todo este tiempo con enamtyun no se si sera bueno o malo,pero me tiene muy preocupado.

Llevo 6 meses y medio intentado que me suelde una clavícula con rotura en el tercio medio.
Mi traumatólogo está dándome Protelos 2g y Natecal D Flash.
Esto tp me ayuda mucho, y para los dolores francamente tomo Traumel porque no me vale de nada lo demás y he tenido que volver a mi edad de quinceañera de porrera para poder dormir por las noches.
Hoy sin más (porque sólo lo hago para poder dormir) iba conduciendo y tuve que salir en la 1 Salida porque me empezó a dolor brutalmente sin más porque me maree muchísimo por el dolor.
Tengo 28 años, y mi médico dice que no se atreve a operar y que es mejor esperar, pero la única que llora de dolores soy yo.
Cree usted que le debería de instar a que se lo planteara?
Me encantaría saber su opinión, se lo agradecería enormemente.

Hola hace aproxidamente 1 semana, fractura clavicula tercio medio desplada , a la vista se ve un bulto exagerado, me colocan bendaje en 8, mi pregunta es mejor operarse verdad, en caso de no operarme el bulto se queda?el hombro se me acorta y se baja de su posicion natural?si no quieren operarme insisto? gracias

Hace 21 días me fracturé la clavícula derecha. En primera instancia, en urgencias, me colocaron el brazo en cabestrillo, el cual lo llevé durante varias semanas. Posteriormente me aplicaron el vendaje en ocho, y este lo llevaré durante 15 días más. El traumatólogo me comentó que con este vendaje sentiría entumecimiento en los brazos y se me hincharían los dedos de las manos por obstrir la circulación, pero no sé si es normal que se me resequen totalmente las manos y que me duelan los biceps al estirar los brazos, como sentir quemazón en los músculos. Por otra parte, el codo derecho no lo puedo estirar totalmentee debido al tiempo que lo llevé en cabestrillo. Mis dudas son sobre si estos síntomas son normales, y si todo ello desapartecerá en tiempo de rehabilitación. Muchas gracias, saludos.

hola k tal, sufri fractura de clavicula en el tercio distal el 19 de agosto de 2011, esto fue jugando fut bol, ademas se dislocó mi hombro, en ese momento regresaron el hombro a su lugar y me recomendaron usar cabestrillo pero solo pensabamos que se habia dislocado el hombro, pero fue hasta un mes despues, cuando me saque una radiografia y di cuenta que habia sufrido fractura de clavicula.Asisti al doctor y me coloco vendaje en 8, y solo dijo que me hiba a servir muy poco pues el hueso ya casi estaba consolidado. hoy 10 de enero de 2012 me pregunto si volvere a jugar fut bol, pero mis huesos estan uno sobre otro.espero su respuesta salu2...

Hola, escribi el dia 12-12, tenía fractura 1/3 distal clavicula, me operaron y ya me quitaron las agujas K el 29-12, en la radiografia de control después de quitarlas el médico me dijo que estaba todo bien, que ya haga vida normal sin coger pesos ni esfuerzos grandes ni deportes en 2 o 3 semanas, hace 2 o 3 días note un pequeño bulto donde el dia que me quitaron las agujas estaba plano, y mi pregunta es si hay posibilidad de que se haya desplazado otra vez hacia arriba porque el callo no era muy consistente todavia o el bulto es el propio callo que se ha hecho mas grande hacia arriba? un saludo.

Hola Jose Luis: puede ser que tengas contracturas musculares a consecuencia de cambios en la postura. Al haber posturas en las que tienes dolor las evitas y fuerzas unos musculos más que otros, lo que te puede producir contracturas. Despues de 2 meses puedes ir a un fisioterapeuta para que valore la musculatura de la espalda, pero que NO te haga nada en la zona de la factura. Un saludo.

Hola Irving: con un desplazamiento de un solo milimetro y si no hay un tercer fragmento interpuesto, a día de hoy la recomendación sería de no operar y tratar la fractura con un vendaje en ocho. Habla con tu traumatólogo y consensúa la decisión. Un saludo.

Hola Enrique: espera 3 meses desde que tuviste la fractura para reincorporarte plenamente a tu actividad física habitual. Sabrás que estás recuperado cuando no te duela nada la fractura al hacer los movimientos del hombro, pero mínimo 3 meses. Un saludo.

Hola enrique: parece que te han colocado un vendaje de Velpeau, utilizado en ocasiones en vez del vendaje en ocho para las fracturas de clavícula. Es un buen método para fijar la clavícula. Es normal que notes la sensación que dices, pues la clavícula hace más efecto al tener que soportar el peso del brazo, es decir, de pie o sentado, y no tumbado, como efectivamente te pasa a tí. Hola Williams: Ten un poco más de paciencia y espera hasta 3 meses desde la fractura, así te aseguras que al lanzar la bola no tendrás ningún problema. Ten en cuenta que el lanzamiento de bolas es muy exigente para el hombro y la clavícula se mueve al mover el hombro. Un saludo.

El pasado 10 de Octubre me fracture la clavicula derecha en el 1/3 medio discal desplazada, con tratamiento quirurgico con reduccion cruenta y fijacion con alambres, este miercoles 21/12/2011 cumplo dos meses y once dias desde la operacion, he hecho terapia y no tengo ninguna limitacion para mover el brazo. Juego beisbol en la posicion de catcher donde aveces hay choques cuerpo a cuerpo y queria saber si ya el hueso esta totalmente sano para comenzar a jugar.

Hola Larissa: el bulto que notas puede ser el callo de fractura en formación. Una de las consecuencias de una fractura de clavicula es que se produce cierto acortamiento del hombro respecto del sano, pero esto no tiene porque suponer un problema a priori. En cuanto a los tiempos de recuperación variará entre 2 y 3 meses, dependiendo de que vayas recuperando fuerza y notes que la zona de la fractura no te duele. El que la clavicula no pegue (consolide) exactamente alineada no tiene que suponer ningun problema, asi que no te preocupes si notas los fragmentos a distinta altura. Debes esperar 6 semanas antes de hacer ejercicio fisico importante y como te digo puede probar a aumentar la intensidad a partir del 2º mes desde la fractura. Un saludo.

Debes seguir la recomendacion de no coger mucho peso hasta aproximadamente los 2 - 3 meses desde la fractura (el tiempo varía segun vayas recuperando fuerza y notes que la zona de la fractura no te duele). Hola Luisa: 3 semanas despues de una fractura de tercio distal de clavicula es un tiempo razonable para inmovilizar una clavicula (normalmente se deja un cabestrillo entre 3 y 4 semanas). La clavicula, como las costillas, son huesos peculiares pues son capaces de curar pese a estar constantemente moviendose (movimientos respiratorios). Lo que debes evitar es cargar peso con el brazo afectado hasta las 6 semanas. Mucho animo Luisa y tranquila.

Hola el pasado 25 de noviembre me fracture la clavicula izquierda en el 1/3 medio entrenando kung fu, fue por una mal caida haciendo maromas, este viernes cumpli 3 semanas de estar con el arnes, no me pusieron vendaje en 8 solo el arnes, he notado que si se nota un abultamiento en la zona de fractura, aunque me palpo y siento cmo la parte proximal de la clavicula aun esta ahi y puedo sentirla. no se que me recomiendes o deba hacer, es posible entrar a box a principios de enero y volver a entrenar kung fu a principios de febrero? a tambien veo que se acorto mi hombro izquierdo y que la parte proximal tmbn esta ligeramente hacia arriba como si se estuviera soldificando cefalicamente al lado distal de la misma. ayuda :) te lo agradeceria

Estuve el pasado lunes 12 de diciembre y los huesos estan soldando. Le pregunté al traumatologo por el problema del acortamiento del hombro y me dijo que iba a quedar bien, y que no hacía falta cirugia porque no considera suficiente el acabalgamiento de la clavicula. Me dijo que si hubiera sido mayor, si que necesitaria cirugia. Me comento que puedo ir haciendo vida normal, moviendo el brazo pero que no cogiera pesos grandes (bombonas butano, cubos llenos, etc..). Estoy haciendo rodillo con la bici, no me molesta casi nada, pero noto que la zona de la rotura me duele, es soportable pero no sé si hago bien en hacer rodillo, que me aconsejas. Recuerde que la rotura fue el 1 de noviembre. Gracias

Hola, me llamo Luisa, el día 22 de Noviembre tuve un accidente de trafico y me fracture la clavícula en el 1/3 distal. Me pusieron el brazo en cabestrillo desde ese día. Ayer fui al medico y sin hacerme ninguna rx, me dijo que me quitara el cabestrillo y que realizara ejercicios pendulares para empezar a movilizar la zona. La verdad es que me preocupa que me haya mandado ejercitar la zona sin saber si la cosa va bien, supongo que al decirle que no tengo muchas molestias a el le vale, pero no se si será normal o no.

Hola Manuel: Puedes estar totalmente tranquilo. Lo normal es quitar las agujas de kirschner entre 3 - 4 semanas tras la cirugía. Tras este tiempo se ha formado un callo de fractura suficientemente fuerte para estar casi seguro de que no se va a mover la fractura. Es una forma de tratamiento bastante extendida, y puedes estar tranquilo porque se hace de esa manera. Un saludo y tranquilo.

Hola Jose Luis: un problema que se esta viendo ahora con las fracturas de clavicula es el acortamiento que se produce en lo que llamamos la "cintura escapular". Parece que esto puede suponer un problema para aquellas personas que trabajan con los brazos por encima de la cabeza, por ejemplo colocando cajas en lo alto de estanterías. Clasicamente casi todas las claviculas se trataban sin cirugía, ahora que se operan más se está viendo esta diferencia. De todas formas lo más frecuente es que no quede ninguna secuela. Comenta con tu traumatologo el acortamiento que tienes y las posibles soluciones. Espero que nos cuentes como te va. Un saludo.

Hola, tengo 21 años, me fracturé la clavícula el 26 de Noviembre, fractura del 1/3 distal con leve desplazamiento hacia arriba, ligamentos intactos, el médico me recomendó intentar no pasar por quirófano pero en una radiografía de control vió que se habia desplazado más y había que operar, me operó el día 7 de Diciembre, realizó una reducción abierta, y después colocó 3 agujas K para la correcta inmovilización, me realizan cura de la herida cada 2 días, está limpia y yo no tengo ya dolor, molestias por tener el cabestrillo puesto casi todo el día pero eso es normal, querría conocer su opinión sobre las agujas K, dan buen resultado? pueden dar complicaciones? el médico que me operó me citó para el día 29 de este mes, es decir, 3 semanas desde la cirugía, y me dijo que me quitaría las agujas, el me lo dijo seguro, pero yo tengo esa duda, si en 3 semanas el hueso que ahora esta junto y bien colocado habrá soldado bien el dia 29?? le agradecería mucho su opinión, Un saludo.

Hola, me rompí la clavicula izquierda el pasado 1 de noviembre. Me pusieron el vendaje 8, que me tuvieron que quitar a los 11 días por unas heridas tremendas en las axilas. Dijeron que no podian ponerme el "8", en su lugar me pusieron un cabestrillo. a los 22 días el traumatologo me dijo que no habia soldado todavía y me quitó el cabestillo. Hoy un mes y 10 días despues, me molesta el hueso en determinadas posturas, pero lo que me tiene preocupado es la distacia del hombro al cuello es bastante mas corta en el lado de la fractura y el hombro parece caido. Dentro de 2 días tengo que volver al traumatologo. mi pregunta es ¿que efectos secundarios tiene la caida y el acortamiento del hombro en un futuro?

Hola Alexis: lo mejor que puedes hacer es probar. Utiliza la moto un día que no tengas que trabajar y prueba a ver como responde el brazo y la clavícula. Despues de un mes operado podrías comenzar a montar en moto durante poco tiempo, pero lo mejor es que hagas la prueba. Si todavía te duele espera un par de semanas y verás como no tienes ningún problema. Un saludo.

Hola Deiby: Me alegra saber que nuestra información te ha sido de ayuda y tu recuperación va bien. Si evitas jugar demasiado fuerte puedes empezar a jugar al futbol. Ten en cuenta que el hueso no esta todavía totalmente fuerte, asi que evita contactos violentos y en la medida de lo posible caer al suelo. Hola Yanina: una fractura desplazada de tercio medio de tibia necesita tratamiento quirúrgico. Debes consultar urgentemente con un traumatologo para que valore la fractura y te plantee las opciones de tratamiento más adecuadas (normalmente introducir un clavo dentro del hueso). Un saludo.

Hola Miriam: seguro que a tu madre le indicaron que medicacion te debe dar en caso de que te duela. Además de los medicamentos es importante que tengas el brazo muy en alto (la mano del brazo escayolado debes tenerla más alta que el codo cuando tengas el brazo pegado al cuerpo). Debes colocarte frio (por ejemplo una bolsa de hielo), pues aunque no lo parezca siempre acaba pasando algo a traves de la escayola, y debes mover mucho los dedos de la mano escayolada. Mira el apartado de recomendaciones generales dentro de la seccion fracturas de miembro superior, donde se explican los ejercicios. Espero que te mejore el dolor y nos cuentes como vas evolucionando. Hola Alexis: depende de tu profesion. Si no tienes un trabajo activo (por ejemplo trabajas en una oficina) puedes volver a las 4 semanas de la cirugia sin problema ninguno. Si tienes un trabajo físico, especialmente si cargas pesos, debes esperar al menos 6 semanas, pues lo que puede hacer fracasar la cirugía es que cargues excesivo peso. le cuento ke cuando me iba a someter a la cirugia me di con la sorpresa que mi hueso ya habia pegado pero habia pegado un poco montado por ahora solo me han dado tres semanas de reposo pero ya sin el vendaje en 8 me han dicho que tengo que hacer terapia. De reposo debes estar mas o menos una semana despues de la cirugia, y para retornar a una actividad normal aproximadamente 4 a 6 semanas. Los riesgos de la cirugía son sobre todo la infeccion. En la clavicula, al estar tan cerca de la piel es posible que la placa que se coloca moleste y por tanto haya que quitarla. Un saludo.

Hola Deiby: la gran mayoría de fracturas de tercio medio de clavícula en gente joven curan sin ningún problema con un vendaje en ocho o incluso un cabestrillo, sin necesidad de cirugía. Tres semanas es poco tiempo para que la fractura haya curado, para ésto harán falta de 2 a 3 meses, pero tranquilo que no tienes que llevar todo este tiempo el vendaje en ocho. Normalmente es suficiente con llevarlo de 4 a 6 semanas, cuando desaparece el dolor a nivel de la fractura, lo que significa que existe suficiente fuerza en la clavícula para no necesitar vendaje. Pero, debes evitar sobresfuerzos y sobre todo coger peso excesivo con el brazo lesionado. Tranquilo que seguro que no vas a tener ningún problema. Un saludo.

Hola Luis: en ocho dias no ha dado tiempo a que se forme callo de fractura, en alguien joven es de suponer que este callo ( que corresponde al proceso de formacion de hueso nuevo que permite la curacion de la fractura) se aprecie entorno a las 4 - 6 semanas. La palpacion del callo será buena señal, pues indica que la fractura esta curando. Que tengas la zona amoratada no es problema, el hematoma se irá reabsorbiendo y acabará por desaparecer, aplicate 15 min 3 veces al dia de frio en la zona del hematoma para disminuir la inflamacion y facilitar su reabsorcion. El vendaje en ocho se coloca durante 6 semanas, pudiendose retirar desde la 4ª semana para hacer ejercicios de rehabilitacion. Un saludo y tranquilo, que las fracturas de clavicula tienen muy buen pronostico y mas en gente joven.

Hola muy buenas, hace 8 dias me rompi la clavicula, me colocaron un vendaje en ocho, y ahora me toco la zona y no me duele. Mi duda es, que me dijero que me iba a salir una especie de bola o cayo de fractura y que la iba a notar. Yo la verdad no la noto en exceso o casi nada. Otra pregunta, tengo la zona morada no en exceso pero bastante incluso el pezon se me ha puesto morado y duro. Respondeme porfavor, estoy desesperado, tengo 17 años y querria saber cuanto me queda de vendaje en ocho

Hola David: contesto a tus preguntas por orden. 1. Los riesgos más importantes de la cirugía son la infección, la falta de curación de la fractura y la molestia de las placas y tornillos. Si no aparecen complicaciones el primer año el riesgo de complicaciones posteriores es muy muy bajo. 2. Como te digo en el punto 1 es una posible complicacion. Es frecuente que haya que retirar la placa y tornillos tras una cirugia de clavicula. Esto se hace cuando la fractura ha curado completamente y suele ser una cirugía donde te puedes ir el mismo día a casa. No se suele hacer antes del año, y nunca salvo complicacion mayor, se debe retirar la placa antes de los 6 meses tras la cirugía. 3. El espacio dejado por los tornillos se rellenara de hueso nuevamente y éste recuperará toda su fuerza y resistencia. Espero que te sean utiles las respuestas. Un saludo.

Muy interesante e importante este sitio, Yo tengo varias dudas, hace 1 mes y 10 dias me fracture la clavicula, en mi caso decidi operarme porque soy ciclista, la ferreteria en mi hombro consiste en 8 tornillos y una placa, y he aqui mis preguntas:
-los riesgos de operarse son a largo plazo o terminan en la sala de cirujia?
-hay una parte de esta placa que sobresale y me duele cuando la toco, es normal?
-si decido sacarme la placa algun dia, los huecos q dejen los tornillos haran mas debil mi hueso?

Hola Jose: los tiempos que damos siempre son aproximados. La inmovilizacion depende de la estabilidad conseguida al fijar el hueso, la calidad del hueso y la gravedad (conminucion) de la fractura. Si te inmovilizaron durante 6 semanas debes hacer caso a las indicaciones de tu traumatologo, que es el que mejor conoce tu fractura. Los tiempos que aportamos son los que de media se utilizan en los casos mas favorables. Un saludo y paciencia.

Ok muchas gracias. Usted coloca en sus recomendaciones que si uno fue operado debe usar el cabestrillo solo 15 dias y para hacer una vida normal y cargar peso de 4 a 6 semanas, esa es mi inquietud, yo fui operado y tengo 1 mes y 5 dias con el cabestrillo y aun no he movido el brazo (asi me indico el medico), y todavia me faltan 12 días para ir a la proxima consulta. ¿no es como mucho tiempo con el cabestrillo y el brazo inmovilizado? teniendo en cuenta que me operaron.
nota: yo me siento bien, y si a veces siento un poco de dolor, pero es como muscular.

Hola Jose: la rehabilitacion dependera de la movilidad que tengas en el hombre al quitarte el cabestrillo. Lo normal es que no haga falta, pero en ocasiones es necesario. La rehabilitacion se suele hacer en casa con unos ejercicios que se recomiendan en la consulta del traumatologo. Hola Eric: no debes hacer ningun tipo de ejercicio con el brazo en el que te has fracturado la clavicula. Podras empezar a coger algo de peso a las 4 semanas, pero no deberias coger peso al menos hasta 6 semanas despues de la fractura. Y si en ese momento sientes dolor, debes esperar todavia más, incluso hasta las 8 semanas. La clavicula, forma parte de la cintura escapular, y tiene una funcion importante cuando se carga pero con los brazos, por tanto no se debe cargar peso para no forzar el hueso mientras esta curando. hola tengo 29 años. Me fracture la clavicula hace un mes, me operaron y me pusieron una placa atornillada igual a la foto. y tengo el brazo en un cabestrillo a los 14 dias de la cirugia fui para que me quitaran los puntos de sutura y me hicieron una placa, en la cual se observo una minima ranura aun en la clavicula me indicaron que tengo que tener el cabestrillo por un mes mas. ( ya tengo 1 mes exacto que me operaron) ya me siento bien de hecho el dolor que siento es muscular por el mes que llevo sin mover el brazo. hay que hacer rehabilitacion luego para mover el brazo? y cuanto dura esta rehabiñitacion?

Hola Eduardo: NO debes realizar movimientos y menos aun cargar peso. Precisamente las fracturas de clavicula se desplazan al cargar peso. Llevar un ocho es muy incomodo, y ultimamente incluso parece que los resultados son los mismos con un cabestrillo. Si el traumatologo asi te lo indico puedes quitarte el ocho para el aseo, procurando colocartelo nuevamente tal y como te enseñaron. Colocar correctamente un ocho no es facil, y en ocasiones se aconseja a los pacientes que no toquen el vendaje. Animo y paciencia, que los vendajes aunque incomodos te pueden evitar entrar en quirofano. Un saludo.

Llevas mas de 3 meses de evolucion con tu fractura. Parece que tuviste un desplazamiento de la fractura durante la evolucion. Este desplazamiento si es pequeño no debe suponer ningun problema. Si es mayor a un centimetro, se ha asociado a problemas esteticos (que te notes un bulto) o a dolor residual sobre todo en personas que se dedican a cargar peso por encima de la cabeza (por ejemplo trabajadores que estan colocando cosas en estanterias, etc). Despues de 3 meses debes poder hacer casi cualquier actividad fisica, aunque te recomendaria que evitaras cargar peso intenso al menos un mes más. Si con tu vida diaria habitual en este momento sufres dolor, sí valoraria la opcion de operarme, si no te molesta nada, yo esperaria pues siempre hay tiempo para operarte (aunque es cierto que cuanto mas tiempo pase la cirugia puede ser mas complicada). La cirugia siempre conlleva un riesgo, y solo se debe entrar a quirofano si el beneficio esperado supera mucho el riesgo. Por tanto todo dependera en definitiva del dolor que tengas o lo limitada que estes. Un saludo.

Tuve fractura de clavícula (tercio medio) con desplazamiento, hace dos semanas y me colocaron un 8, sólo me lo saco para bañarme. Es esto correcto ??. tengo que tener el brazo totalmente inmóbil ó puedo hacer pequeños movimientos sin peso ??

kAIXO EL DIA 21 DE JUNIO-2011, ME ROBARON DE UN TIRON EL BOLSO, Y EN CONSECUENCIA TENGO LA CLAVICULA IZQUIERDA DISTAL FRACTURADA, ME COLOCARON UN FERULA, Y ME LA QUITARON EL 4 DE AGOSTO, SEGÚN LA RADIOGRAFIA HABIA HECHO CALLO, HICE UNA REHABILITACIÓN PRIVADA EN AGOSTO, Y EL 6 DE SEPTIEMBRE ME HICIERON OTRA RADIOGRAFIA, Y EN ELLA APARECÍA LA CLAVÍCULA OTRA VEZ COMO AL PRINCIPIO O SEA FRACTURADA, EL MÉDICO ME DICE QUE SI NO ME DUELE QUE SIGA ASÍ Y SI ME DOLIERA MUCHO QUE HAY QUE OPERAR, PREGUNTO:
QUE TIPO DE PESOS PUEDO COGER AHORA , ANDAR EN BICI SE PUEDE, NADAR SE PUEDE??.

tengo una inquietud, agradezco en lo que me puedan ayudar, el 25 de febrero de 2011 sufrio un accidente de transito y como consecuencia de este se me fracturo la clavicula derecha, el dia 26 me hicieron cirujia y a la fecha la recuperacion ha sido bastante notoria, quisiera empezar el gimnasio y poder elvantar peso a estas alñturas podria hacerl? mil gracias por la informacion.

Hola Miguel: como te comenté en la otra respuesta, debes hablar con tu traumatologo sobre que ya no sientes dolor y creo que antes de entrar en quirófano debes hacerte una nueva radiografia actual. Si no está consolidada operaté, pero si está consolidada no lo hagas. Espero haberte aclarado. Un saludo.

hola de nuevo ..gracias por responderme tan rápido ..el tac me lo hicieron a los 6 meses de la caída por que persistia el dolor ..el traumatologo me ve y dice que hay un caso entre mil.. la rotura se consolida y suelda pero que en mi no es asín ...y me dice que un mes me opera desde el tac hasta ahora an pasado 2 meses mas..y ahora es cuando noto que no me duele ...la clavícula la sigo teniendo rota me imaginero ..pero no me duele .. estocen mi pregunta es me opero o no estoy echo un lio ..me gusta hacer bici de montaña y de carretera pero vamos a nivel profesional ..salida de 100km y de 200km 3 o 4 veces por semana ..por eso digo q si me repercutirá en un futuro .me hicieron el preoperatorio hace 3 semanas me tiene que llamar ya mismo ...un saludo espero su respuesta ....muchas gracias.

Hola Miguel: La primera pregunta es, ¿esta consolidada la fractura? Por lo que entiendo la fractura te la hiciste hace 8 meses (tiempo de baja) y la TAC es de hace 2 (6 meses tras la fractura) Si es así, por supuesto que no hace falta que te operes. Las fracturas de clavicula acaban consolidando en casi el 95% de los casos, por tanto puede ser que en tu caso haya tardado, pero que finalmente sí haya consolidado. Si la fractura no está consolidada, aunque no tengas dolor, al ser una persona deportista, sí te recomiendo que te operes. Como todas las cirugías la osteosintesis de una fractura de clavicula tiene sus riesgos, pero por lo general suelen ser procedimientos relativamente sencillos, y con resultados muy buenos. Resumiendo, si en estudios radiográficos actuales la fractura está consolidada, ya está; si no está consolidada seguiría la recomendación de tu traumatologo de operarme. me caí de la bici ..rotura de clavícula a la altura del hombro.. a los 6 meses me hacen ..un tac resultado ..clavícula no consolidada .estoy en lista de espera ..llevo ya 8 meses de baja y este ultimo mes e mejorado tanto que no me duele nada .. tengo 42 años practico bici de montaña de carretera me fascina .mi pregunta es que hago me opero o no ..me repercutirá a largo plazo..gracias ....saludos.

No dices en tu comentario si estás operado o no. Uno de los problemas que pueden aparecer tras sufrir una fractura de clavícula, especialmente si ésta produce un acortamiento de la clavícula es un dolor crónico en el hombro, especialmente al cargar peso y trabajar por encima de la cabeza. Este es el motivo por el cual cada vez se está dando más importancia a las fracturas de clavícula, y mientras que antes no se operaban casi nunca, ahora se están operando muchas más, sobre todo si se ve en la radiografía inicial un acortamiento de la clavícula. En tu caso, despues de un año, lo primero que debes confirmar es que la fractura está "pegada" (consolidada). Si no es así te tendrás que someter a tratamiento quirúrgico. Si la fractura está pegada, que es lo más probable, deberías realizar ejercicios para ganar fuerza en la llamada cintura escapular, es decir, fortalecer los músculos del hombro, del cuello y de la parte alta de la espalda. Puedes acuidr a un fisioterapeuta para que te explique algunos ejercicios para fortalecer estos músculos.

sufri una fractura de clavicula pero despues de un año a un siento dolor cuando me acuesto del lado del hombro fracturado o cuando levanto objetos pesados...quisiera saber si son secuelas de por vida... si podre cargar o levantar objetos pesados..gracias
